An appreciation blog for the STARs of St. Andrews Radio, including commentary and webcam snapshots. Plus some extra bits about a few other "star" encounters.
A few favourite DJs
Three weeks of fun and, in this humble old radio guy's opinion, here are my personal top DJ favourites for the Spring 2007 semester: Matt & Georgie for enduring exhuberance; Monique & Jesse for quality nullus secundus; Andy & Tom for going beyond the expected; and Andrew Scott for the finest music this side of the moon. There is no way I could select just one show. And a huge thanks to everyone who smiled for the webcam.

Old Radio Guy
Many years ago when I worked at a radio station in the colonies on the West Coast of Canada, a listener invited me to a nearby island where he lived. He thought it would be fun if I recorded part of my show at his place, using some really old radio equipment. It was a novel idea. When I arrived at his filthy little shack, I was ready to leave. However, I recorded one hour using his ancient setup. He took a photo (above) to mark the occasion, then went into a little nook with a curtain and developed the film and printed the photo. Before leaving, I asked if I could use the toilet and he pointed to the little nook with the curtain and handed me an old pail. Just one of those unique once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Creepy, eh?
Canuckish
James Rose, you get a mention here for two reasons: First, you sound like a Canuck. The other is that you claim Rex Murphy (on the right) to be your radio idol. Rex is truly one of the great ones. There's no other just like Rex.
